This resource has a number of different learning activities that are aligned to the state common core standards. The resources are easy to search with the assistance of the different number of searching options located on the right hand side of the page.This is also a great resource to suggest to parents if they want to share a number of different learning activities with their children.

A Fun and Interesting Way to Learn About Simple Machines

Simple Machines

    This is a "cute" game that helps kids learn about simple machines in a fun way. The object of the game is to guide Twitch all over the museum to collect all of the robot spare parts. The player's job is to find objects to make the task easier for Twitch. Each time you use a new simple machine you learn about its purpose. Fun and learning all rolled up into an animation.

Cookie.com - A Website for Grades K - 2

Cookie

Cookie.com is a website that has a number of different interactive activities for students in grades K - 2.The site has a number of different tabs across the top dealing with games, stories, videos, worksheets, and arts and crafts. These activities are in the subject areas of language arts, math, social studies, science and more. The nice thing about each of the games is that it gives you a short explanation of what is involved in each game and the grade level/ages that the activities are designed for. The majority of the other tabs are geared more towards K-1 students, but students who may need additional help in certain areas could benefit from a number of these activities.

Fuel the Brain








This site is geared towards K-3 students and have games, interactive activities, and printables in the areas of math, science, and language arts. This is a free resource for teachers and students to use. There is even an option to create your own mini-book that can be printed out and shared with others. The site is easy to navigate and the topics are broken down into specific skills for each area of instruction.

Interactive Activities on The Children's University of Manchester Site

Children's University of Manchester

The site contains a interactive activities for students to explore a number of  topics. They topics cover a variety of topics, but most deal with science. The main topics are divided down into sub-topics. For example if I click on "words" you then get a number of choices such as adjective detective, borrowing words, naming nouns and more. This would work well with your interactive whiteboard.
